Gameplay Walkthrough

Goal: earn as much Reputation as you can by completing bounties. Each bounty is a battle, and you power your familiar by building a set of number-stones. Your choices shape your familiar’s strength (mean) and stability (spread).

1Choose a bounty

Choose easy bounties for small rewards. Bigger bounties to succeed!

2Empower your familiar

Add number-stones (1–10) to create a distribution. Aim for a strong mean while keeping enough spread (SD) for survivability. Watch your Attack Range and Stability updates.

Start the fight and watch how your choices play out. Some builds hit hard but break fast; others are steadier. If you lose, adjust your stones and try again.

4Earn Reputation & repeat

Winning bounties earns Reputation. Keep refining your distributions to take on harder bounties.

Reputation

Challenge: demonstrate your mastery — build the best familiars and earn the highest Reputation.

Build Archetypes

Different distributions create very different familiars. Below is one example to get you started. You’ll discover others as you experiment.

🪟 Glass Cannon

A high-risk, high-reward build that focuses on raw power.

  • Mean: High
  • SD: Low
  • Attack: High and consistent
  • HP: Low (low Stability)
🦾 Survivor

A defensive build that prioritizes staying alive over dealing damage.

  • Mean: Moderate
  • SD: High
  • Attack: Variable and unpredictable
  • HP: High (high Stability)
⚖️ Balanced

A flexible build that balances power and survivability.

  • Mean: High
  • SD: Moderate
  • Attack: Strong with some variability
  • HP: Moderate (enough Stability)

Think ahead: powerful builds often come with hidden weaknesses. Reputation goes to players who balance power and survival.

How the Numbers Are Calculated

These rules are always active in the game. You don’t need to memorize them — they are here so the system is transparent and fair.

  • Mean: the average of your stones.
  • Spread (SD): how far your stones are from the mean.
  • Attack: based on your mean, with variability added by your spread.
  • Stability: increases as spread increases, but with diminishing returns.
  • HP: Stability × a fixed game constant (number).

Higher mean increases damage. Higher spread increases survivability but also makes damage more unpredictable.
